We are looking for people who are passionate about helping others and are dedicated to supporting young vulnerable pupils within special education. Our partner school in Leatherhead, Surrey are looking for fantastic Teaching Assistants to join the team. You do not need to be a qualified teaching assistant, but you will need to have enthusiasm to learn and grow within the role. You must have a willingness to develop your skills and be dedicated to supporting pupils with special educational needs. 

If you come from a background in care, support work, or are experienced within a school setting, you may be able to excell within this role. If you are a graduate who is looking to begin your career within SEND, this is such a great opportunity to gain some great experience at a fantastic SEN school. The SEN School in Leatherhead caters for primary pupils with autism, complex needs & communication needs. 

You must be friendly and engaging to bring out the best in every young learner. This is a very rewarding role where you will be making a difference everyday. The successful candidates will be dedicated to a full time position from 8:30am to 3:15pm term time. You must be able to engage effectively with the pupils and have great communication skills. You will be making learning an exciting experience and giving support along the way.

Teaching Assistant (unqualified) Responsibilities
  • Support learners with special educational needs both academically and emotionally.
  • Be open to learning new skills everyday. 
  • Establish a warm, caring and supportive relationship with pupils in order to support them feeling safe and enabling them to enjoy and learn during their time at the school.
  • Encourage independence and personal development in pupils and maintain high expectations of behaviour at all times.
  • Contribute to providing high quality, challenging and differentiated educational activities and experiences through supporting the teaching of a broad and balanced curriculum aiming at pupils achieving their full potential in all areas of learning.
  • To promote pupils’ cognitive, social, emotional, behavioural, physical development and spiritual well-being.
Teaching Assistant (unqualified) Requirements:
  • Must be enthusiastic to learn and develop your skills 
  • Be commutable to Leatherhead, Surrey 
  • Someone with a bubbly and happy personality
  • Able to engage with others well using fantastic communication skills
  • Be dedicated to supporting pupils within special education.
