Qualified Multi-Subject SEND Teacher
Location: Wolverhampton
Salary: £150 - £250 per day (depending on experience)
Contract: Full-time opportunity
Are you a passionate and adaptable SEND teacher looking for your next opportunity? We are currently seeking expressions of interest on behalf of one of our specialist education clients as they prepare to open an exciting new provision in Wolverhampton.
This is an excellent opportunity to join a developing specialist setting from the very beginning, helping to create a nurturing and inclusive learning environment where every young person is supported to reach their full potential. We are looking for an experienced teacher who enjoys delivering a broad, engaging curriculum and can adapt their teaching to meet the diverse needs of learners with SEND.
The Role
As a Qualified Multi-Subject SEND Teacher, you will deliver a flexible, cross-curricular timetable tailored to the individual needs of students with Education, Health and Care Plans (EHCPs). Working closely with Learning Support Assistants, families and external professionals, you will create meaningful learning experiences that build confidence, independence and academic progress.
This role would suit an enthusiastic teacher who is comfortable teaching across a range of curriculum areas and enjoys finding creative ways to engage learners with a variety of additional needs.
Key Responsibilities
- Plan and deliver engaging lessons across a range of curriculum subjects, adapting learning to meet individual needs.
- Create a positive, structured and inclusive classroom environment that enables students to thrive.
- Differentiate learning and assessment to support pupils with a wide range of SEND needs and abilities.
- Work collaboratively with Learning Support Assistants to ensure targeted interventions and classroom support are delivered effectively.
- Contribute to the development and review of EHCP outcomes, personalised learning plans and progress targets.
- Monitor student progress, maintain accurate records and use assessment to inform future planning.
- Promote communication, independence, resilience and positive behaviour through creative and engaging teaching approaches.
- Build strong relationships with parents, carers and external professionals to ensure a joined-up approach to supporting each learner.
- Work alongside colleagues and multidisciplinary teams to deliver high-quality, pupil-centred education.
- Support the development of a safe, nurturing and trauma-informed learning environment.
About You
The successful candidate will ideally have:
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS).
- Experience teaching pupils with SEND, SEMH or within specialist or alternative provision.
- Confidence delivering a broad curriculum across multiple subject areas.
- A strong understanding of adaptive teaching strategies and differentiated learning.
- Knowledge of EHCPs and experience supporting personalised learning programmes.
- Excellent communication, organisational and classroom management skills.
- The ability to work collaboratively with support staff, families and external agencies.
- A calm, flexible and resilient approach with a genuine commitment to improving outcomes for young people.
Experience with trauma-informed practice, communication strategies or alternative approaches to learning would be advantageous, although not essential.
