Are you passionate about supporting young people who have experienced trauma or barriers to learning? We are seeking a compassionate and resilient Trauma-Informed Teaching Assistant to join a dedicated and nurturing educational setting in King’s Lynn, Norfolk.

This is a rewarding opportunity to work with students aged 5 to 16 who have experienced emotional distress or disrupted education. As a Trauma-Informed Teaching Assistant, you will help learners rebuild confidence, develop trust, and re-engage with education in a safe and supportive environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide one-to-one and small group support for learners with trauma backgrounds or social, emotional, and mental health (SEMH) needs.

  • Use trauma-informed approaches to build trust and promote emotional regulation.

  • Support classroom learning by adapting materials and strategies to individual needs.

  • Encourage positive behaviour and resilience through consistent, nurturing support.

  • Work collaboratively with teachers, therapists, and external agencies to ensure holistic care for each student.

Requirements:

  • Experience supporting children or young people affected by trauma, SEMH, or additional learning needs.

  • Knowledge of trauma-informed practice and behaviour support strategies.
