About the Role
SEN Teacher - Year 7
Location: Effingham
Salary: £160 – £230 per day (depending on experience)
Start Date: ASAP
We are currently working with specialist school in Effingham, that provides high-quality academic and therapeutic provision for students aged 11–16 with autism and associated behavioural and communication difficulties.
This is a fantastic opportunity for a dedicated and nurturing Year 7 Teacher to lead a small Year 7 class of 6 learners who are cognitively working at approximately Year 3/4 level. The pupils present with ASD and SEMH needs, and you will be supported in the classroom by an experienced HLTA and TA.
Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) is not essential; however, candidates must be willing to work towards QTS and demonstrate a strong commitment to professional development.
The Role:

Plan and deliver highly differentiated lessons appropriate for learners working at a Year 3/4 cognitive level

Create a structured, calm and therapeutic learning environment

Implement positive behaviour and emotional regulation strategies

Work collaboratively with the HLTA, TA, SENCO and wider therapeutic team

Monitor, assess and track pupil progress in line with individual EHCP outcomes

Build strong, consistent relationships with pupils and families
The Ideal Candidate:
-
Experience working with students with ASD and/or SEMH
-
Strong understanding of adapting curriculum content for pupils working below age-related expectations

Confident behaviour management and a trauma-informed approach

Patient, resilient and passionate about inclusive education

Willing to work towards QTS if not already qualified
