Are you passionate about supporting children and young people with additional needs? We are looking for a committed and empathetic SEN Teaching Assistant to join a well-established primary and secondary special school based near Borehamwood, Hertfordshire.

This is a fantastic opportunity to work in a nurturing environment supporting pupils with a range of special educational needs, including Autism Spectrum Condition, ADHD, speech and language difficulties, sensory processing needs, moderate learning difficulties (MLD), and associated communication challenges.

About the Role

As an SEN Teaching Assistant, you will work closely with teaching staff and therapists to provide structured, individualised support tailored to each pupil's Education, Health and Care Plan (EHCP). You will help students develop academically, socially, and emotionally, using a calm and consistent approach to encourage engagement and independence.

Your role will involve:

  • Providing 1:1 and small group support
  • Assisting with personalised learning activities
  • Supporting emotional regulation and positive behaviour strategies
  • Encouraging communication and social interaction skills
  • Creating a safe, inclusive, and supportive learning environment
