About the School
Inspire EHC is working in partnership with a specialist SEMH (Social, Emotional and Mental Health) school in King’s Lynn that supports children and young people with a range of complex emotional and behavioural needs.
The school provides a nurturing, therapeutic, and trauma-informed environment where pupils receive tailored support to help them grow academically, socially, and emotionally.
Pupils may present with:

Anxiety and school-related stress

Low self-esteem or low confidence
-
Attachment and trauma-related needs
-
Emotional dysregulation
-
Challenging or dysregulated behaviour
-
Difficulties with social communication and forming relationships
-
ADHD/ADD
-
Behaviour linked to past adverse experiences
The Role
We are seeking a caring, resilient, and committed Teaching Assistant to join the school’s dedicated SEMH team.
This is an excellent opportunity for someone with mainstream or SEND experience who is passionate about supporting pupils with complex emotional needs and helping them build positive, trusting relationships.
Key Responsibilities

Provide one-to-one and small-group support for pupils with SEMH needs

Use de-escalation strategies and trauma-informed approaches to support behaviour

Help pupils develop emotional regulation, social skills, and confidence
-
Assist teachers in delivering personalised learning programmes and structured routines
-
Contribute to creating a safe, calm, and supportive classroom environment

Build strong, trusting relationships with pupils, staff, and families
About You

Experience working with children or young people (school, youth work, community, or care setting)

Patient, empathetic, and emotionally resilient, with a calm and positive approach
-
Confident supporting pupils with challenging behaviour or complex emotional needs
-
Full UK driving licence required

Strong communication and teamwork skills
-
Committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children
