Education

Children's Services

Residential children's homes and children's day centres support some of the most vulnerable young people in the care and education system, many with SEND, autism, or mental health needs that require patience, specialist skill, and absolute consistency. Inspire EHC supplies vetted, experienced staff for both settings, so providers can maintain safe staffing levels and deliver stable, high-quality care and support.

Key Takeaways

Dual Expertise: staff experienced in both residential care and day-centre support for SEND, autism, and mental health needs

Safeguarding First: every candidate vetted to KCSIE and relevant care-sector safeguarding standards, including Enhanced DBS checks

Flexible Models: short term, block bookings, temp-to-perm, and permanent recruitment

What We Provide

We supply staff across both residential and day-centre settings, matched to the specific needs of the young people in your care:

Residential Support Workers and Senior Support Workers

Waking Night Staff for residential settings

Registered Managers and Deputy Managers (permanent recruitment)

Day Centre Support Workers and Activity Coordinators

SEMH Mentors and Autism-Specialist Support Staff

Therapeutic and Behaviour Support staff for complex needs

Residential Care You Can Rely On

Consistency is everything in a residential setting: young people often arrive having experienced multiple placement breakdowns, so every new face matters. We supply support workers and senior staff who understand attachment and trauma-informed care, are comfortable with waking nights and shift patterns, and are ready to fit into your home's existing routines and culture from their first shift.

Day Centres for SEND, Autism, and Mental Health

Day centres supporting SEND, autism, or mental health needs require staff who can balance structured activity delivery with sensory awareness and flexible, person-centred support. Our day-centre staff bring experience in communication-led approaches, sensory regulation, and de-escalation, so sessions stay safe, engaging, and genuinely beneficial for every young person attending.

Why Providers Choose Inspire EHC

Placing staff in residential and day-centre settings carries real risk if the fit is wrong: a mismatched worker can unsettle routines that take months to build. Our recruitment process screens specifically for resilience, patience, and relevant experience with SEND, autism, and SEMH needs, so every candidate we place is ready for the realities of the role, not just qualified on paper.

Sector-specific vetting: candidates screened for experience with SEND, autism, and SEMH needs

Enhanced safeguarding: every candidate DBS-checked, referenced, and compliant with care-sector standards

Trauma-informed approach: staff trained in attachment-aware and de-escalation practice

Flexible, rapid response: from short term cover to long-term and permanent placements

Sector specialists: consultants who understand residential and day-centre operations, not generalist supply

How to Secure Vetted Staff

Share your requirements: tell us the setting type, shift pattern, and specific needs of the young people you support (e.g. autism experience, waking nights, SEMH training).

Receive matched candidates: we put forward vetted staff experienced in your setting type, ready for review.

Confirm and deploy: once approved, staff can start on short-term or long-term basis as required.

Who We Work With

Residential Children's Homes

Children's Day Centres and Respite Services

SEND and Autism-Specialist Provision

Local Authorities commissioning residential or day-centre placements

Private and Independent Care Providers

Our Commitment to the Children We Support

We know that behind every shift is a young person who needs stability, patience, and genuine care. Our commitment is to supply staff who bring both the specialist skill and the temperament these settings demand, so every home and centre we support can offer safe, consistent, high-quality care.

Inspire Tutoring

Mainstream Education

Inspire EHC relieves the pressure on mainstream school leaders by deploying specialist SEND staff who integrate immediately into your existing team. Every candidate is vetted to Keeping Children Safe in Education (KCSIE) standards, so you get continuity from day one and start closing attainment gaps straight away.

Key Takeaways

Specialist Integration: SEND-trained staff embedded into mainstream settings to support diverse learning needs immediately.

High Retention: placements run for the full academic year, giving pupils consistency.

Compliance First: 100% of candidates are vetted against KCSIE standards before placement.

What We Provide

We supply the full range of staff mainstream schools need to support inclusive education:

Qualified Teachers across EYFS, Primary, Secondary, and specialist subjects

Experienced Teaching Assistants and Learning Mentors

SEND Specialists, including 1:1 support, SEMH mentors, and inclusion staff

Intervention Tutors for literacy, numeracy, phonics, and targeted catch-up

Pastoral and Behaviour Support to strengthen whole-school wellbeing

Supporting Inclusive Education for Every Learner

Mainstream schools face increasing complexity, from rising SEND needs, behaviour challenges, and widening attainment gaps. Almost 9 out of 10 teachers say they need more help to support their SEND learners (Teacher Tapp, June 2025).

Inspire EHC responds by embedding specialist staff who can de-escalate behaviour and differentiate the curriculum without disrupting the wider class. This helps schools across the UK raise standards, close gaps, and make sure every pupil is seen, supported, and able to succeed.

Why Schools Choose Inspire EHC

Schools partner with us to access a dedicated pool of professionals who bridge the gap between mainstream resources and complex SEN needs. Our staff are equipped to support the 17.3% of pupils identified with SEND (DfE, 2023). Our recruitment model focuses on ‘high-nurture’ candidates, so every placement brings academic expertise alongside the patience and resilience inclusive classrooms need.

SEND expertise at the heart of our approach — staff who can confidently support diverse needs

Intervention-focused staffing — targeted, evidence-informed support that closes attainment gaps

Values-driven recruitment — patience, resilience, and a child-centred mindset

Reliable, flexible staffing models — daily cover, long-term placements, temp-to-perm, and permanent recruitment

Safeguarding as standard — every candidate vetted against KCSIE guidelines, referenced, and trained

As a REC member, we adhere to the highest industry compliance standards.

Strengthening Inclusion Through the Right People

Effective inclusion depends on understanding the drivers of behaviour, not just managing the symptoms. Our staff are trained to spot sensory triggers and executive-function difficulties, and to use co-regulation strategies rather than punitive ones to build the psychological safety pupils need to learn.

Inclusive education isn’t achieved through policy alone; it’s built through people. This early-intervention approach helps schools meet needs sooner, reduce escalation, and keep learners in the right environment to grow.

We support:

1:1 SEND provision

Classroom inclusion and differentiation

SEMH support and behaviour regulation

Small-group interventions

Transition support and reintegration

Attendance and engagement work

Who We Work With

We partner with educational settings ranging from single-form-entry primary schools to large Multi-Academy Trusts, delivering consistent staffing support across the full spectrum of mainstream and specialist provision:

Primary Schools

Secondary Schools

Multi-Academy Trusts (MATs)

Alternative Provisions linked to mainstream

Local Authorities

Specialist SEND units within mainstream settings

Whether you need a teacher for a term, a 1:1 SEND TA, or a team to deliver targeted interventions, Inspire EHC provides staff who bring stability, skill, and genuine care.

How to Secure Specialist Mainstream Staff

Step 1: Audit your current staffing gaps. Review your specific needs, identifying whether you require general cover, 1:1 SEND support, or targeted intervention tutors.

Step 2: Define the competency requirements. Contact our team to specify the exact behavioural or academic expertise required, such as SEMH experience or phonics training.

Step 3: Deploy vetted professionals. We select and clear candidates who match your criteria, so they arrive ready to support your school’s attainment goals immediately.

Our Commitment to Your School Community

We believe mainstream schools can be truly inclusive when they have the right support. Our mission is to help you build a workforce that lifts outcomes, strengthens wellbeing, and gives every learner the opportunity to succeed, regardless of their needs.

Request a Staffing Consultation

Contact our staffing team today to discuss your requirements and view candidate profiles.

Alternative Provision

Alternative Provision (AP) is education arranged by local authorities or schools for pupils who, due to exclusion, illness, or other circumstances, would not otherwise receive suitable education. This includes Pupil Referral Units (PRUs), AP academies, and independent providers delivering statutory education outside mainstream settings

At Inspire EHC, we provide tailored Alternative Provision for learners facing challenges such as school refusal, anxiety, or exclusion, helping them access consistent, high-quality education, whether in person or online.

Key Takeaways

Statutory Compliance: provision meets DfE guidelines for full-time education for excluded pupils or those with medical needs

Reintegration Focus: we aim to reintegrate 90% of learners into mainstream settings or further education

Holistic Support: placements combine academic tuition with therapeutic interventions to address SEMH needs

Bespoke Timetables: every student receives a custom schedule based on their baseline assessment and EHCP requirements

Our Approach to Learning

Our approach centres on trauma-informed practice and flexible curriculum delivery. We assess each learner's baseline functional skills and design a timetable that balances core academics with vocational or therapeutic sessions, setting personalised goals that build resilience alongside progress.

Every student's provision looks different: our team combines engaging one-to-one support with evidence-based methods such as scaffolded instruction and sensory breaks, adapting as each learner grows in confidence and skill.

The Importance of Well-being in AP

Successful AP placements prioritise emotional stability to enable cognitive availability for learning. By addressing the root causes of dysregulation, such as anxiety or trauma, we create the psychological safety learners need before academic engagement can follow.

That's why every placement pairs academic achievement with emotional and social growth, in a warm, inclusive environment that helps learners face challenges with confidence and reach their targets, with support at every step.

How to Access Alternative Provision

Step 1: Submit a referral. Schools or Local Authorities complete a referral form detailing the student's EHCP status, academic history, and specific SEMH needs.

Step 2: Initial assessment. Our team conducts a baseline assessment of the student's functional skills and emotional needs to build a custom learning plan.

Step 3: Placement and review. The student begins with a phased induction, followed by weekly progress reviews to ensure the provision meets statutory requirements and the student's goals.

Join Us

At Inspire EHC, we're more than an educational service. We're a team dedicated to nurturing and inspiring young people through strong partnerships. If you're looking for a partner that values emotional well-being as much as academic success, we'd love to hear from you.

Book a Consultation

Contact our team today to discuss how our Alternative Provision can support your students.

SEN Schools Staffing

Inspire EHC supplies specialist staff for SEN schools who can deliver against complex EHC plan requirements from day one. Every candidate is matched to the specific needs on your roll and vetted to Keeping Children Safe in Education (KCSIE) standards, so your setting gets continuity, expertise, and full compliance in one placement.

Key Takeaways

EHC Plan Matching: staff selected against the specific outcomes named in pupils' EHC plans, not just general SEN experience.

Specialist Depth: candidates experienced across autism, SEMH, PMLD, and complex communication needs.

Safeguarding First: 100% of candidates vetted against KCSIE standards before placement.

What We Do

We supply SEN schools with staff who are matched directly against the outcomes set out in each pupil's EHC plan, rather than simply placed by subject or year group. That means a school looking for support with sensory regulation, communication, or personal care gets a candidate with proven experience in that exact area, so provision maps translate into real classroom support from the first day.

Class Teachers with SEN specialism (autism, SEMH, PMLD, MLD)

1:1 and 2:1 support staff for high-needs pupils

Speech, language, and communication support workers

SEMH mentors and behaviour specialists

Therapy-linked support (OT/SALT-informed staff) for integrated provision

Why SEN Schools Choose Inspire EHC

Placing staff in SEN settings carries higher risk than mainstream supply: a mismatched placement can set back a pupil's progress and unsettle a carefully built routine. Our competency-based recruitment process screens for the resilience, patience, and specialist skill these environments demand, so schools get candidates who are ready for the realities of the role, not just qualified on paper.

Provision-mapped placements: staff matched to named EHC plan outcomes

Competency-based vetting: screened for resilience and de-escalation skill, not just qualifications

Enhanced safeguarding: every candidate DBS-checked and referenced to KCSIE standards

Flexible cover: from single-day emergency cover to full-year placements and permanent recruitment

Sector specialists: consultants who understand SEN school operations, not generalist supply

“Inspire EHC understood exactly what our pupils needed, not just what the job spec said. The staff they placed with us fit straight into our routines and stayed the whole year.

— Headteacher, Norfolk SEN School

How to Secure Vetted SEN Staff

Step 1: Share your provision map. Tell us the specific outcomes and needs your current EHC plans require, from communication support to physical care.

Step 2: Define the specialism. Our consultants confirm the exact experience needed, for example PECS training, PMLD experience, or SEMH de-escalation training.

Step 3: Receive matched, vetted candidates. We put forward professionals who meet both the safeguarding bar and the specific needs of your pupils, ready to start.

Who We Support

We work with the full range of specialist and SEN provision, including:

SEN Schools and Academies

Specialist Colleges (post-16 SEN provision)

SEMH Schools

PRUs and Alternative Provisions

Local Authorities commissioning specialist placements

Specialist units and resource bases attached to mainstream schools

Our Commitment to Your School Community

We know that in SEN settings, the right person matters as much as the right qualification. Our commitment is to supply staff who bring both the specialist skill and the temperament these pupils need. This helps your school maintain consistent, high-quality provision for every child, every day.

Request a Staffing Consultation

Contact our staffing team today to discuss your requirements and view candidate profiles.
