About the Role
Outreach Tutor - KS3 Foundation & KS4 - Halifax, West Yorkshire
Salary: £27,456 - £43,014 | Full Time (40 hours/week) | Urgent Start
Are you an experienced teacher or tutor looking for an exciting new challenge in Halifax, West Yorkshire? We are urgently seeking a dedicated Outreach Tutor to support KS3 Foundation and KS4 students who require personalised, flexible education. This is a fantastic opportunity to make a real difference for young people who may have disengaged from mainstream school and need a fresh start.
About the Role - Outreach Tutor Halifax
As an Outreach Tutor, you will work with secondary-age students across Halifax and the wider West Yorkshire area in outreach and alternative education settings. Many of these learners face barriers to learning due to social, emotional, or behavioural needs, so your creativity, resilience, and adaptability will be key in helping them re-engage with education and build brighter futures.
Key Responsibilities

Plan and deliver tailored lessons for KS3 Foundation and KS4 students across core subjects.

Provide 1:1 and small group tuition in outreach and alternative provision settings.

Adapt teaching styles to meet the diverse needs of each learner.

Build positive relationships with students, families, and external agencies.

Track and report on student progress to ensure clear outcomes and continued development.
Requirements for the Outreach Tutor Role

Teaching experience in SEND, SEMH, alternative provision, or similar environments.

Strong understanding of the KS3 and KS4 curriculum.

Ability to adapt quickly to different settings and build trust with young people.

QTS/QTLS is desirable, but we welcome applications from unqualified but experienced tutors.
