The successful candidate will work with children and young people with a range of Special Educational Needs (SEN) and Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) needs, providing a safe, nurturing and engaging learning environment where students can develop confidence and achieve their potential. Key Responsibilities Plan and deliver engaging and differentiated lessons that meet individual learning needs. Teach and support young people with a range of SEN and SEMH needs. Create a calm, positive and nurturing classroom environment. Build strong and trusting relationships with students. Adapt teaching strategies, resources and approaches to meet individual needs. Support students with emotional regulation, engagement and barriers to learning. Promote positive behaviour through consistent, nurturing and trauma-informed approaches. Monitor, assess and record student progress. Work closely with teaching assistants, support staff and other professionals. Contribute to the wider wellbeing, development and educational progress of students. Essential Requirements Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) – essential. Previous experience teaching children or young people with SEN. Experience working with students with SEMH needs. A genuine passion for supporting young people who may have experienced difficulties within mainstream education. Strong classroom management and behaviour support skills. The ability to differentiate learning and adapt teaching to individual needs. Excellent communication and relationship-building skills. A patient, understanding and nurturing approach. Enhanced DBS clearance or willingness to undergo the required checks. Full right to work in the UK. Unfortunately, sponsorship is not available.
