We are currently looking to connect with experienced and enthusiastic 1:1 SEN Teaching Assistants in the Welwyn Garden City, Hertfordshire area, as there may be an upcoming opportunity within one of our partner schools. The school supports Primary and Secondary aged pupils and is committed to helping students thrive through tailored, individualised support in small-group settings. Position Details:
- Location: Welwyn Garden City, Hertfordshire
- Position: 1:1 SEN Teaching Assistant
- Hours: Monday–Friday, 09:00–15:30 (Term-Time Only)
- Salary: £85–£95 per day, inclusive of 12.07% holiday pay
- Contract: Potential Temp to Perm opportunity
1:1 SEN Teaching Assistant – Key Responsibilities
Depending on the needs of the school and pupils, responsibilities may include:
- Organising engaging learning resources and activities.
- Adapting lessons and activities to meet individual students’ needs.
- Providing feedback and maintaining accurate records.
- Assisting with personal care when required.
- Supervising pupils during educational visits and breaks.
- Promoting independence, teamwork and positive behaviour.
- Using ICT tools to enhance learning.
- Working collaboratively with parents, teachers and other professionals.
Skills & Requirements
- Previous experience supporting students with special educational needs is highly desirable.
- A compassionate, patient and understanding approach to working with children and young people.
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to work effectively as part of a team.
- A commitment to safeguarding, equality and promoting the welfare of young people.
- A valid Enhanced DBS check, or willingness to apply for one.
- Ability to commute to Welwyn Garden City, Hertfordshire.
