The school supports young people with communication and interaction needs, specific learning difficulties such as dyslexia, autism spectrum conditions, SEMH needs, and anxiety-related barriers to learning. The school offers small classes with a maximum of 10 students and at least 3 staff in each class. This allows you to work closely with each learner and provide the individual attention they need. There is an established on-site clinical and therapy team who work closely with education staff to ensure a consistent and supportive environment for every student. Key Responsibilities: Build warm and supportive relationships with students so they feel safe, valued and ready to learn. Encourage independence, personal development and positive behaviour. Support the delivery of a broad, balanced and engaging curriculum adapted to meet individual needs. Assist the class teacher with all aspects of classroom organisation and daily routines. Be adaptable to the changing needs of the class and wider school. Promote students’ cognitive, emotional, social, behavioural, physical and spiritual development. Work effectively as part of a multi-disciplinary team. Requirements: GCSE Maths and English (Grade 4/C or above) or equivalent. Level 2 or Level 3 Teaching Assistant qualification (or working towards it). Understanding of safeguarding and child protection. Experience supporting students with SEMH or ASD needs.
