SEN Teaching Assistant – Taunton

We are seeking an enthusiastic, dedicated professional to join our team as a SEN Teaching Assistant. If you are passionate about supporting learners with special educational needs and disabilities (SEND) and making a real difference in their lives, we’d love to hear from you!

  • Location: Taunton, Somerset
  • Contract: Full-time 37.5Hrs, Permanent (Term-time only)
  • Pay: £24,570 – £25,935
  • Start Date: October 2025

Please note: Due to the rural location of the school a Full-UK Driving Licence is required

Key Responsibilities as a SEN Teaching Assistant:

  • Mentor, support, and inspire learners by assisting with curriculum-based activities in the classroom, during home tuition, outreach programmes, and outdoor learning.
  • Help prepare resources and contribute to achieving learning objectives, with a strong focus on behaviour management.
  • Provide daily feedback on learners’ progress and identify barriers to learning.
  • Work closely with parents and carers to support each learner’s development.

SEN Teaching Assistant Requirements:

  • A genuine passion for helping students with SEND thrive.
  • Ideally 2+ years’ experience in a SEND setting (desirable but not essential).
  • Strong English and Maths skills.
  • Full-UK Driving Licence and access to a vehicle.
