SEN Teaching Assistant – Near Godalming, Surrey
Are you looking for a rewarding role where you can support young people with additional needs to thrive in a nurturing and therapy-led setting? We’re seeking a reliable and compassionate SEN Teaching Assistant to join a well-resourced SEN school near Godalming, Surrey.
Please note: A full UK driving licence and access to a vehicle is essential due to the school’s rural location.
About the Role
As an SEN Teaching Assistant, you'll support pupils aged 11–19 with a range of complex needs, including mental health challenges and social communication difficulties. You’ll work closely with teachers and therapists to promote emotional resilience, positive behaviour, and independent learning, both in the classroom and through life-skills activities.
Location: Near Godalming, Surrey
Contract: Full-time | Temp-to-Perm
Start Date: September or ASAP
Hours: Monday to Friday, 08:30–16:15 (term-time only)
Pay: £13.80 – £15.80 per hour (including holiday pay)
Key Responsibilities
- Provide consistent, 1:1 or small group support for students with SEND
- Support emotional regulation and behaviour management strategies
- Assist with academic and practical life-skills tasks
- Help maintain a calm, structured and inclusive learning environment
- Collaborate with a multi-disciplinary team to meet individual needs

- A patient, proactive and supportive attitude
- Ability to commit to full-time hours and work collaboratively with others
- Experience supporting young people with additional needs (desirable)
- Full UK driving licence and access to your own transport
