SEN Teaching Assistant – Near Godalming, Surrey

We’re looking for a dedicated SEN Teaching Assistant to join a vibrant and supportive team at a fantastic SEN school near Godalming, Surrey. This role offers a unique opportunity to support students in achieving their full potential in a nurturing, therapy-led environment.

Please note: A full UK driving licence and access to your own vehicle is essential due to the school’s rural location.

Location: Near Godalming, Surrey
Role: SEN Teaching Assistant
Hours: Full-time, Monday – Friday, 08:30 – 16:15 (term-time only)
Salary: £13.80 – £15.80 per hour (inclusive of holiday pay)
Contract: Long-term / Temp-to-Perm

Your Role as an SEN Teaching Assistant:

  • Provide compassionate and consistent support to students with complex learning needs, including mental health and social communication difficulties
  • Work closely with teaching staff and therapists to deliver individualised support
  • Help students build emotional resilience, regulate behaviour, and gain confidence in their abilities
  • Support learning through a mixture of classroom-based and life-skills-focused activities
  • Be a steady, reassuring presence for pupils navigating both academic and personal challenges

  • A positive, empathetic and proactive individual who genuinely cares about helping young people succeed
  • Someone who can commit to full-time hours and values the structure and stability this brings to students
  • Experience working with children, young people, or adults with additional needs is desirable—but not essential
  • A full UK driving licence and access to your own vehicle due to the location of the school
