1:1 SEN Support Assistant – Great Bookham, Surrey

Position Overview
Location: Great Bookham, Surrey
Role: 1:1 SEN Support Assistant
Hours: Monday to Friday, 08:30 – 15:30 (Term Time Only)
Pay Rate: £84.05 – £90 per day (inclusive of holiday pay)
Contract Type: Long-term / Temp-to-Perm
Start Date: ASAP
About the Role
As a 1:1 SEN Support Assistant, you will work closely with a child with special educational needs, providing tailored and consistent support throughout the school day. You will help the pupil engage with learning, develop confidence, and build positive relationships within the school community.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Providing individualised support during lessons and transitions
- Supporting emotional wellbeing and encouraging positive behaviour
- Helping implement personalised strategies in collaboration with the class teacher and SENCO
- Creating a calm and inclusive learning environment
- Encouraging social interaction and participation in school life
- Supporting the child in achieving personal and educational goals
What We’re Looking For
- A compassionate and reliable individual able to commit to full-time hours
- Strong communication skills and a proactive attitude
- A patient and empathetic nature, with a genuine interest in supporting children with SEND
- Previous experience in education, care, or a similar setting is desirable but not essential
- A commitment to safeguarding and supporting inclusion
