Behaviour & Inclusion Support Assistant

Location: Birkenhead / Liverpool area

We are recruiting for a Behaviour & Inclusion Support Assistant to work in a specialist education provision supporting pupils with SEMH and additional learning needs. This role focuses on supporting students to engage positively with education, manage behaviour effectively, and access learning in a structured and supportive environment. You will work as part of a dedicated team of teachers, pastoral staff, and support workers to help remove barriers to learning and promote positive outcomes for all pupils.

Key responsibilities:

  • Supporting pupils with SEMH and SEN needs in and out of class
  • Promoting positive behaviour and engagement
  • Delivering 1:1 and small group support
  • Supporting emotional wellbeing and resilience
  • Working closely with staff to implement support strategies

Requirements:

  • Experience in education, care, or youth support
  • Understanding of SEMH/SEN needs
  • Strong behaviour management skills
  • Patient and consistent approach
  • Commitment to safeguarding
