The Role As an SEN Teaching Assistant, you will play a vital role in supporting students both inside and outside the classroom. Key Responsibilities • Support pupils with SEMH needs to access learning and engage positively in school life. • Assist with the delivery of personalised learning activities and intervention programmes. • Build positive and professional relationships with students to promote confidence and self-esteem. • Support emotional regulation and encourage positive behaviour strategies. • Work closely with teaching and pastoral staff to meet individual student needs. • Monitor and record student progress and achievements. • Help create a safe, structured and inclusive learning environment. • Promote independence, resilience and essential life skills. • Follow safeguarding procedures and contribute to maintaining a secure environment for all pupils. What We're Looking For • Previous experience working with children or young people with SEMH, SEN or behavioural needs. • A calm, resilient and empathetic approach. • Strong communication and relationship-building skills. • The ability to remain positive and adaptable in a dynamic environment. • A genuine passion for supporting vulnerable learners. • Experience within education, youth work, care or support settings is highly desirable. • Relevant qualifications in Education, Childcare, Health & Social Care or Support Work are beneficial but not essential.
