About the Role
Contract SEN Teaching Assistant - Mid Norfolk, Norfolk
Inspire EHC is seeking a dedicated Contract SEN Teaching Assistant for our esteemed client, a specialist SEN School based in Mid Norfolk, Norfolk. Our client, a reputable provider of specialist, tailored education and support for children with special educational needs, is committed to fostering an inclusive environment where every student can succeed. This role offers an excellent opportunity to make a positive impact within a passionate team, supporting children with social, emotional, and mental health (SEMH) needs. Our client is an experienced provider of special educational needs (SEN) education, dedicated to supporting children with diverse requirements, including SEMH. Their mission is to empower learners and create a nurturing, safe environment tailored to each child's needs.
Key Responsibilities
- Supporting students with SEMH needs within the classroom setting to facilitate effective learning.
- Implementing tailored learning programmes designed to meet individual student needs.
- Providing emotional and behavioural support, fostering a safe and positive environment.
- Assisting with personal care and daily routines where necessary.
- Collaborating with teaching staff to track and document progress for each student.
- Promoting the wellbeing and inclusion of all students through nurturing and supportive practices.
- Engaging in behaviour management strategies to encourage positive conduct.
What We’re Looking For
- Previous experience working as a Support Staff member, ideally within a SEN environment.
- Background working with children with SEMH needs.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to remain calm and resilient in challenging situations.
- Flexible and adaptable approach to support different student needs.
- Good team player capable of working collaboratively with staff and external professionals.
- Enhanced DBS check (or willingness to undergo one).
