Key Responsibilities as an SEN Teacher:

  • Plan and deliver engaging, high-quality lessons tailored to meet individual student needs.

  • Teach small class sizes, typically up to 10 students, with three dedicated support staff.

  • Adapt teaching methods to support students with autism, dyslexia, anxiety, and SEMH challenges.

  • Work closely with Teaching Assistants and Higher-Level Teaching Assistants, offering guidance and mentorship.

  • Monitor student progress, focusing on both academic and emotional development.

  • Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team, including an onsite clinical team and experienced leadership.

  • Ensure all lessons adhere to safeguarding practices and promote equality.


SEN Teacher Skills & Requirements:

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or QTLS - ECTs are welcome to apply!

  • Experience working with SEN learners and managing EHCPs.

  • Strong knowledge of SEN teaching strategies and classroom adaptations.

  • Excellent classroom management skills and the ability to engage students with diverse needs.

  • A creative, adaptable approach to lesson planning and delivery.

  • Full UK driving licence and access to a vehicle (due to the rural location of some schools in Suffolk).
