About the Role
Job Title: Unqualified Teaching Assistant
Location: Great Bookham, Surrey
Salary: £84.05 – £90 per day (inclusive of holiday pay)
Contract Type: Long-term / Temp-to-Perm
Hours: 08:30 – 15:30 (term-time only)
Start Date: ASAP
Job Description:
Inspire EHC is working with a welcoming and inclusive school in Great Bookham, Surrey, to recruit dedicated Unqualified Teaching Assistants. This is a fantastic opportunity for individuals looking to begin a career in education, including psychology graduates, or those looking for a meaningful career change. If you’re passionate about supporting pupils with special educational needs, this could be your perfect role.
You will provide 1:1 support and small group assistance, helping pupils access learning, build confidence, and make progress both academically and emotionally.
Key Responsibilities:
- Support pupils with a range of additional needs including autism, ADHD, and speech & language difficulties.
- Work closely with the class teacher and SENCO to implement individual education plans (IEPs).
- Build strong, positive relationships with pupils, staff, and families.
- Assist in preparing engaging and inclusive learning resources.
- Track and report pupil progress and behaviour.

Requirements:
- A genuine interest in working with children and supporting those with additional needs.
- Patience, empathy, and a willingness to learn on the job.
- Strong communication and teamwork skills.
- Commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of pupils.
- Willingness to undergo an enhanced DBS check and provide suitable references.
- Experience with children (in any setting — such as parenting, volunteering, or community work) is beneficial but not essential.
