SEN Secondary Teacher Role Overview
The successful candidate will plan and deliver high-quality lessons for students with SEMH and ASD, ensuring they receive personalised support to thrive academically, socially, and emotionally. You will collaborate with the SENDCo, support staff, and local authorities to monitor progress and address the individual needs of each pupil.
Key Responsibilities:

Deliver engaging lessons adapted to the unique needs of SEN pupils.

Support students’ progress according to their Individual Learning Plans (ILPs) or EHCPs.

Provide pastoral care and guidance, ensuring students’ welfare and safety.

Collaborate with the SENDCo and teaching assistants to create a consistent learning environment.

Communicate with parents and guardians to celebrate successes and address concerns.

Work with local authorities on EHCPs, funding, and pupil reviews.

Foster positive behaviour and high expectations in a safe and supportive environment.
SEN Secondary Teacher Requirements:

Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent.

Experience supporting students with SEMH and ASD.

Strong skills in differentiating instruction and building positive relationships.
