Position: SEN Teaching Assistant
Hours: 8:30 am - 3:30 pm, Monday to Friday
Salary: £13.80 - £15 /hr, based on experience
Contract: Temp to Perm, Term-Time Only

Key Responsibilities as an SEN Teaching Assistant:

Prepare engaging learning materials and organise classroom activities.

Provide individualised support to students in Great Yarmouth.

Foster a safe and encouraging learning environment.

Lead activities and outdoor experiences, ensuring pupil engagement.

Assist the classroom teacher in delivering exciting and dynamic lessons.

Help students develop life skills and gain confidence in their abilities.

Effectively manage challenging behaviour using positive reinforcement and de-escalation strategies.
What We’re Looking for in an SEN Teaching Assistant:

Previous experience of working in a school preferred.

Strong teamwork skills, with the ability to share ideas and collaborate effectively.

A genuine passion for working with neurodiverse pupils, particularly those with SEMH challenges.

Ability to build trusting relationships with pupils and encourage their personal growth.

Experience handling challenging behaviour with calm and effective management strategies is desirable.
