We are thrilled to be supporting a well-established, forward-thinking specialist school in Westcliff-on-Sea to recruit a passionate Learning Support Assistant (LSA).

This setting supports children and young people with a wide range of additional needs, including Severe Learning Difficulties (SLD) and Profound and Multiple Learning Difficulties (PMLD). Some students also have neurological impairments, complex physical disabilities, and medical needs.

Over half of the students have autism, with some presenting very complex profiles. The school also supports pupils with moderate learning difficulties, helping them develop socially and emotionally before transitioning to further education or college.

The school is seeking a kind, caring, focused, and resilient individual to join their team. Experience working with students with autism or severe learning difficulties is desirable, but not essential, as full training and development opportunities are provided.

The Role
As a Learning Support Assistant, you will play a key role in supporting students both academically and emotionally. You will work closely with teachers and therapy teams to ensure every student can thrive in a structured, supportive, and nurturing environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide 1:1 and small group support for students with SEN
  • Support the delivery of tailored and personalised learning plans
  • Assist with behaviour management and emotional regulation
  • Build positive relationships with students, staff, and families
  • Promote a safe, inclusive, and engaging learning environment
