About the Role
My client, a respected educational institution in Cambridge, Cambridgeshire, is seeking a dedicated and compassionate Full-time SEN Teaching Assistant to join their team. The successful candidate will play a crucial role in supporting a student with special educational needs, ensuring they receive the individualised attention and guidance necessary to thrive in their academic journey.
The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in working with children with special educational needs, coupled with a genuine passion for making a positive impact on their lives. As a SEN Teaching Assistant in Cambridge, Cambridgeshire, you will work closely with the student, teachers, and other support staff to create a nurturing and inclusive learning environment that caters to the student's unique requirements.
SEN Teaching Assistant key responsibilities of the role include:
- Providing one-to-one support to the assigned student throughout the school day, adapting to their specific needs and learning style
- Collaborating with teachers to develop and implement personalised learning plans and strategies that promote the student's academic, social, and emotional development
- Encouraging the student's independence and self-esteem through positive reinforcement and constructive feedback
- Assisting the student with daily tasks, such as organisation, communication, and social interactions
- Maintaining accurate records of the student's progress, achievements, and any concerns, and regularly communicating with relevant stakeholders
- Participating in relevant training and professional development opportunities to enhance skills and knowledge in supporting students with special educational needs
- Commute to Cambridge, Cambridgeshire full time.
As an SEN Teaching Assistant to be considered for this role, you should have:
- Proven experience working with children with special educational needs in an educational setting
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, and problem-solving skills
- A patient, empathetic, and adaptable approach to working with students with diverse needs
- Proficiency in using assistive technology and educational resources
- A commitment to promoting inclusivity, equality, and diversity in the learning environment
- Relevant qualifications in education, special needs support, or a related field
Our client offers a competitive salary range of £14.00 to £18.00 per hour, depending on experience and qualifications. The role is based in Cambridge, Cambridgeshire, and is a full-time position, offering the opportunity to make a lasting difference in the life of a young person.
