SEN Teaching Assistant – Welwyn Garden City, Hertfordshire

Role: SEN Teaching Assistant

Location: Welwyn Garden City, Hertfordshire

Hours: Monday to Friday, 09:00 – 15:30

Pay: £90 - £100 per day (including 12.07% holiday pay)

Contract: Temp to Perm
Key Responsibilities:

Build strong, trusting relationships to help pupils feel safe and supported.

Assist in delivering creative, personalised lessons tailored to individual needs.

Provide 1:1 and small group support, focusing on communication, sensory integration, and emotional regulation.

Encourage independence and promote positive behaviour.

Support personal care, physiotherapy, and other individual needs.

Work closely with teachers, therapists, and other support staff.

Contribute to a calm, inclusive, and engaging classroom environment.
What We’re Looking For:

Experience supporting SEN children or young people.

A compassionate, patient, and proactive approach.

Excellent teamwork and communication skills.
-
Good understanding of safeguarding, inclusion, and equal opportunities.

Enhanced DBS (or willingness to obtain) and reliable transport to Welwyn Garden City.
