Hours: 09:00 – 16:00, Monday to Friday (Term-Time Only)
Salary: £84.05 – £90 per day (inclusive of 12.07% holiday pay)

About the Role
As an Unqualified SEN Teaching Assistant, you will provide tailored support to students with autism and other complex needs, helping them reach their full potential. You will assist in implementing personalised learning outcomes, behaviour support profiles, risk assessments, and communication plans.

You’ll use non-confrontational and non-directive approaches to help students access the curriculum, adapting resources to suit individual needs. You’ll maintain daily progress records, contribute to assessments and reviews, and ensure safeguarding and student wellbeing are prioritised at all times.

Additional duties include assisting with personal care, therapy sessions, daily routines, and supervising students during breaks, educational visits, and extracurricular activities. You will work closely as part of a multidisciplinary team, collaborating with teachers, therapists, and parents to provide holistic support and help maintain a structured and engaging classroom environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide specialist support to students with autism and complex needs
  • Assist with personalised learning outcomes, behaviour support profiles, and communication plans
  • Use non-confrontational and non-directive methods to support students
  • Adapt curriculum materials to meet individual needs
  • Keep accurate records of student progress and behaviour
  • Assist with personal care and therapy sessions where required
  • Supervise students during breaks, visits, and extracurricular activities

  • Support classroom organisation and preparation

Skills & Requirements

  • Compassionate, patient, and adaptable approach to supporting students
  • Strong communication skills

  • Understanding of child development, autism, and safeguarding principles
  • GCSE English and Maths (Grade A-C or equivalent)
