Key Responsibilities as a Qualified Year 2 Teacher:

  • Plan and deliver engaging, tailored lessons that support the needs of Year 2 pupils.

  • Create a structured and supportive learning environment to promote academic and emotional development.

  • Work collaboratively with Teaching Assistants, SENCOs, and other school staff to enhance pupil learning.

  • Develop and implement Individual Education Plans (IEPs) for children requiring additional support.

  • Foster positive relationships with parents, carers, and external agencies to ensure a consistent learning journey for each child.

  • Monitor and assess pupil progress, adapting teaching strategies as necessary.

  • Uphold safeguarding and behaviour management policies, ensuring a safe and inclusive classroom.


Qualified Year 2 Teacher Skills & Requirements:

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) with experience in Key Stage 1 education.

  • Strong knowledge of the national curriculum and early learning strategies.

  • Experience working with students with special educational needs (SEN), particularly Autism and social, emotional, and mental health (SEMH) needs.

  • A nurturing and patient approach to supporting young learners.

  • Strong classroom management skills with experience handling a range of pupil needs.

  • Ability to work effectively in a collaborative school environment and contribute to a positive team culture.
