SEN Teaching Assistant – Welwyn Garden City, Hertfordshire

Role: SEN Teaching Assistant

  • Location: Welwyn Garden City, Hertfordshire

  • Hours: Monday to Friday, 09:00 – 15:30

  • Pay: £85 - £95 per day (including 12.07% holiday pay)

  • Type: Temp to Perm

 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Build strong, trusting relationships to help pupils feel safe and supported.

  • Assist in delivering creative, personalised lessons tailored to individual needs.

  • Provide 1:1 and small group support, focusing on communication, sensory integration, and emotional regulation.

  • Encourage independence and promote positive behaviour.

  • Support personal care, physiotherapy, and other individual needs.

  • Work closely with teachers, therapists, and other support staff.

  • Contribute to a calm, inclusive, and engaging classroom environment.

 

What We’re Looking For:

  • Experience supporting SEN children or young people.

  • A compassionate, patient, and proactive approach.

  • Excellent teamwork and communication skills.

  • Good understanding of safeguarding, inclusion, and equal opportunities.

  • Enhanced DBS (or willingness to obtain) and reliable transport to Welwyn Garden City.

SEN Teacher - Year 7 Location: Effingham Salary: £160 – £230 per day (depending on experience) Start Date: ASAP We are currently working with specialist school in Effingham, that provides high-quality academic and therapeutic provision for students aged 11–16 with autism and associated behavioural and communication difficulties. This is a fantastic opportunity for a dedicated and nurturing Year 7 Teacher to lead a small Year 7 class of 6 learners who are cognitively working at approximately Year 3/4 level. The pupils present with ASD and SEMH needs, and you will be supported in the classroom by an experienced HLTA and TA. Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) is not essential; however, candidates must be willing to work towards QTS and demonstrate a strong commitment to professional development.
